EDLD 5366

The assignment that I gained the most knowledge from in EDLD 5366 was the first one, which required us to create our own logo.  I did not realize the significance of branding until this assignment.  I believe this realization is important to all clubs and organizations within a school.  It is important for students to realize their organization stands for something more.  By allowing students to create a logo, which represents them and what they stand for it will allow those involved to feel as though they own a part of that organization and take more of an interest in its success.

          The relationship between the old information and new made me realize how much our society is moving to a more technology based learning environment and that it is important to develop teachers and students alike that are willing to incorporate technology into their lives on a more regular basis.

             I did not approach any of the assignments in any way different than I have previously.  I anticipated learning new and exciting techniques in this class as I have taught desktop publishing at the high school level and enjoy working on these types of projects.

            My learning with colleagues was challenging at first but became an experience that I wish I had in more classes.  I learned a lot my communicating with them and they allowed me to feel more comfortable in this online environment.

            I believe it is imperative to implement websites in PK-12 classrooms.  The websites can be used to post lesson plans to keep parents updates on their child’s assignments.  The website can also contain resources to help parents with any questions they need addressed in addition to work that may have been missed by sick students.  If all teachers had their own classroom website the communication between teachers, parents and students alike would be greatly improved.
