Week 5

As an English Language Arts teacher, deciding on a lesson that would accommodate the scenario given was one of the easier parts of this assignment.  I selected the tall tale lesson plan because it gave the group the most flexibility knowing that not everyone has a strong literature background but that everyone would be familiar with that genre of literature from childhood experiences.  Due to the exaggeration involved in tall tales it provides an array of technology lessons that could be implemented and easily created by all group members.

Looking back over the entire project I appreciated the group aspect of the class.  Working with others around busy schedules and developing a concept that could be implemented in a classroom was an enlightening and very challenging experience.  The ideas and experience brought to the table by my group members taught me the most and I appreciate their patience and willingness to work together.- Brandie Roe

Week Four

This week of EDLD 5364 I learned additional information about how to assess various students in ensure their understanding of the material taught.  It is important to allow students to not only learn in different ways but also to be assessed in various ways to obtain an accurate view of your students ability to comprehend the material.

Week Three 5364

In week three of EDLD 5364 I found new resources that confirmed my ideas that every learner is different.  It is important to realize the differences in students and allow them to utilize their learning technique to the best of their ability in order to ensure that every student has the same opportunity to learn all concepts being taught.

EDLD 5364

After reading the script from the web conference I feel I have a little better understanding as to what is to be done with our internship plans.  I will state that reading the script while helpful does not provide the insight that actually viewing the conference does.  This is my fourth class and I have learned that participating in the conferences is the most beneficial aspect to understand the course content.  Prior to a few weeks ago I had not been able to attend a web conference.  When I attended my first one I realized how much I had missed out on in previous classes.  Sometime the lack of face to face interaction makes the courses a little more difficult to fully comprehend and gain insightful knowledge from.
In addition, while difficult to work on group projects in an online course it has forced me to communicate with classmates and form connections with students.  These connections have proven helpful because everyone seems to be willing and understanding of each other’s busy schedules and we have been able to help each other out.
