Blogs for Educational Leaders

Educational leaders could use blogs to facilitate classroom discussions, to communicate and generate ideas from other classroom leaders for improved classroom instruction or problem solving.

Action Research

Action research is the ability to observe your own actions in a school setting and then be able to diagnose the problem and create a practical solution that will address the needs and create improvement.   This creates a continual cycle of learning for all involved.  It is important for administrators to remember that there is always need and room for improvement in our educations system.  I believe I could use the action research method numerous ways.  One such would be my classroom practices.  I often feel that I do not challenge the students enough and that there are other methods to teach some content.  By evaluating my student’s ability to grasp more difficult concepts and then attempting to create varied structure in the teaching method I could increase their understanding while keeping them actively engaged.  In addition, there are areas of concern at our campus with student comprehension of text in all content areas.  I think that by evaluating the needs of all students and creating a PLC to create a plan to address the needs of the students that as a group we could collaboratively develop a feasible solution for our campus and students. Keeping teachers and administrators working together produces a more effective team of educators and problem solvers.
